Gaia Temple’s Origin…

It all began during COVID in a historic chapel in Hawaii.

About Gaia Temple

When COVID shut the world down in 2020 and people were forced to stay home alone in isolation, Marly Benedicto, the founder of Gaia Temple, signed a lease for a mostly abandoned chapel on the shores of Hawaii, and with the help of community, transformed it into an artist hub.

In one year the community united to restore the historical site. Together they replaced sagging ceiling fans, dozens of light bulbs and broken locks and windows. Termites were treated naturally with orange oil, and life was brought back into this home.

People came with silk green couches, guitars and grand pianos, giant rugs and pillows and plants. Paints, easels and brushes. The chapel quickly filled up with spiritual books and altar items. Each person brought what inspired them, and shared their talents and knowledge. Days were spent studying vibrational medicine and community development, meals were prepared with food forged from the ʻĀina, and after watching the sun set over the ocean’s horizon from lava cliffs, evening evolved into tea and music jams.

Our Vision

We envision a world with clean waters, clean air and healthy soil. Where the rights of nature have been restored and in the process humanity has found itself revitalized and thriving in peace, reciprocity and care for the planet and one another. Extraction methods have been replaced with regenerative models and the mysteries of the oceans and ancient trees are safe guarded through restoration and conservation practices. The feminine voice and Indigenous voice has found it’s rightful place among global and local leadership. Where borders have been disolved and we Unite as humans of the Earth, as Gaians. We envision a world where war rooms are replaced by peace rooms, where punishment is replaced by trauma support and recovery, and where all people’s immediate needs of safety, health and wellness are addressed and met. Where technology is embraced as an accelerator of smart networks. A world where art, music, dance, poetry and self expression are exalted alongside the sciences, and we have collectively rewoven a new story that considers the beauty of our awakening and creation process.
